]]>We were excited when Taylor, the Talent Development Coordinator at Pariveda Solutions, reached out at the beginning of the year to work together on gifts for their growing Management Team. We had created a few one-off gifts for them last year and were looking forward to establishing a great relationship to help improve their client and internal gifting strategies in 2019.
For this project, Taylor was looking for a sleek, luxurious gift to welcome employees at a conference in April. The goal was to create a branded gift that appealed to both genders and focused on professional gifts that went beyond the typical corporate swag.
With the Pariveda logo and brand guidelines in-hand, we started working on an initial gift design and proposal for Taylor's review. We chose to propose a few of our most popular gifts in the corporate realm, which included a Corkcicle tumbler and a Native Union wireless charging pad (two products we use daily and swear by!). We then rounded out the design with a few of our most useful, popular products that complement their branding, such as a pair of blue Public Supply pocket notebooks, a branded silver foil stamped notepad/set of silver metal minimalist pens, and our favorite hand cream in monochromatic, gender neutral packaging. You can check out the initial mockup we sent to Taylor below.
After a couple revisions on the initial design and a follow-up call with Taylor, we settled on a sleek gift box with a tech/corporate focus that included the Corkcicle coffee tumbler, Public Supply pocket notebooks and pens and Native Union wireless charger, as well as a couple "treats" for use during the conference: a pair of delicious Mast Brothers sea salt chocolate bars and a single pot serving of premium ground coffee (perfect for upping your hotel coffee game). We also wrapped the notebooks in a custom branded Pariveda band for a special touch that didn't break the bank.
We love the strong color theme of the final box - this is something we focus on that takes your gifts to the next level. Having like-colors in gift boxes shows a thoughtfulness that is unmatched by other gift boxes and gift boxes available around the web.
As with any corporate project, our goal was to create a gift box filled with items that the recipient will keep and use frequently. Our worst nightmare is a corporate or client gift that gets thrown in a drawer, or even worse, the trash can, by the receiver (we're looking at you, promotional plastic pen, rubber keychain, logo frisbee...). In a Marie Kondo world, keepsake items that are useful and practical are king. We think we succeeded in landing on a design that was visually impressive and filled with functional, practical gifts that "spark joy."
It was an absolute pleasure working with Taylor and Pariveda on this project. We're so thrilled with the final result, and were happy to hear from Taylor that they were a hit!

Last year, the team at Conner Catering in Philadelphia, PA reached out to us to improve their gifting strategy. They wanted a sleek, branded gift for their clients to receive upon booking their services. At the time, they were in the middle of a comprehensive re-brand, so showcasing their new logo on the gifts was important. They wanted a fun, celebratory gift to congratulate their clients on booking their venue and catering company. As Taylor, the Director of Weddings and Special Events at Conner Catering said, "something small but something that will put a smile on [their] clients' faces."
With that in mind, and with brand identity guidelines from their designer, we got to work on a gift design. With guidance from Taylor, our corporate gifting team created 4 gift designs with estimates for review. Taylor and her team chose their favorite, made some small changes, and chose how they wanted to incorporate their branding into each gift.
The final gift suite was simple and elegant. It included our letterpress his and her vow books (or his and his/hers and hers for same-sex couples), a set of gold minimalist pens, custom branded Champagne Bubbles candies from Sugarfina, and branded packaging including a custom foil-stamped greeting card/envelope and letterpress belly band to wrap the box.
Beautiful label options from Sugarfina for the custom candy cubes.
Photos sent from our team to Taylor to keep her updated with each custom product arrival.
After the final design was approved, we moved forward sourcing their custom products - frequently checking-in with Taylor for her guidance and approval on the various custom designs. We sent quick photos as products arrived (see above) and reached out with any questions that we needed clarification on. Once we had all the custom products in our warehouse, we put together samples of the final gifting suite and sent the photos over to Taylor to place her first order. She chose to stagger her shipments over the course of the year, so we were happy to store her products at no additional charge until she's ready to send each gift.
Once the design process is complete, our ordering process for custom gifts is simple: when a client is ready to ship a gift, they just send over the recipients' name(s) and address(es), and we'll reply back with an invoice for the remaining cost. We've even kept Taylor updated through a shared Google Sheet tracking all shipped gifts and their respective tracking information, so she can rest assured that each package has arrived safely to its recipient.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Taylor and the Conner Catering team. We love how everything turned out and we're jealous of the couples that receive these sweet gifts! Taylor kindly let us know that they have been well-received:
"We could not be happier with our experience working with Foxblossom. We were looking for a small, but personal way to say "Thank You" to our clients after booking our services and Foxblossom created the perfect gift. Foxblossom was wonderful to work with through the entire design process and captured our brand perfectly in every detail of the final product. The positive feedback we have been receiving from our clients about their gifts has only confirmed what a great decision it was partnering with Foxblossom on this project!"

Do you want big, bold, dramatic swaths of metal in your wedding? Or, do you prefer small, understated splashes of metallic accents? Either can be beautiful, but they require some slightly different palettes.
If you're going for glitz and glamour on your big day, try to choose metallics with neutral undertones, as they allow the accents to pop. This also has the effect of somewhat muting the metallic nature, which helps you avoid being too gaudy with your decor. Think classics like gold, silver, white, gray and black.
Smaller amounts of metal actually play great with natural/cool color schemes. For instance, accenting decorations with copper works well on navy or emerald colors, whereas silver accents work better with light blues and pale greens. Pairing the metallic you choose with natural/cool color schemes will help you keep a natural, simple look to your decor.
Not only can you compliment metals with color, you can enhance them with complimenting materials. To help balance the "sharpness" of metallic decor, consider softer fabrics to match them with. Lush fabrics like harem cloth, silk chiffon or cotton gauze used as curtain, bunting or table runners are perfect for balancing out your accents. Top the fabrics with metallic table numbers or small candles in gold or silver to add a touch of romance to your tablescapes.
Flowers are a major focus for weddings. Luckily, flowers are one of the easiest ways to incorporate these metallics. Traditional flowers pair great with a simple palette, such as white, blush pink, or pale blue. With a straightforward color palette for flowers, you can really take your pick of metal for your vase. Silver, gold, bronze, copper, rose gold, and even stainless steel, can be paired with your floral arrangement to make your tables a bit more striking.
Another simple way to add metallics to your floral arrangement is metallic ribbon. Depending on your desired look, you can use metallic ribbon to tie off floral arrangements on tables or pews, or your bouquet itself, for a small, subtle touch. For a large, dramatic presentation, gather your flowers with large bows. Metallic ribbon is so versatile, you can incorporate it into your bouquet, flowers for bridesmaids and boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen.
Our custom monogram cake toppers make it easy to incorporate a little bit of luster with your florals. Each topper is laser cut with the initial of your choice using thick, food-grade MDF, which is painted by hand with your choice of metallic gold, silver, copper or champagne. The delicate florals accent on the topper is the perfect feminine touch for a statement cake topper that will surely be a stunner in your wedding photos.
If you want something even less traditional in the floral department, try gilded leaves. Ask your florist to gild either magnolia or camellia leaves to add to your bridal arrangement or tablescape. A few gilded leaves added to traditional bouquet can a bit of excitement and update the traditional bridal floral look.
Here is where you can let your imagination run wild. Small, subtle amounts of metal can be incorporated into just about anything as long as your palette remains consistent. Guest books and place setting cards can be sparked up with metallic details, metal candlesticks can give an industrial chic look to tables, and small metal touches to your menus and place settings can go a long way.
Choosing metallic plates and cutlery with a complimentary fabric table cloth can really make the metallic shine through, but remember that metals work best as accents, not primary styles (aka go for a bit of gold in your table settings, but avoid only using gold).
If incorporating metallics on all guest tables seems like it may be too much for your style, consider using them on the head table. Metallic gold is beautiful in nearly any palette or table setting. Custom mirrored gold champagne flutes at each place setting on the head table make a statement and a personalized touch. Or look into renting fun golden chargers or cutlery for just the bride and groom. Those sheen from the metallic colors always looks amazing in wedding detail shots.
You and your dress will be the center of attention on the big day, which presents a perfect opportunity to show off your metallic flair. Like adding small metallic details into your decor, the sky’s the limit when incorporating metal into your bridal look.
Headband veils can be found in just about any metal from rose gold to platinum. Smaller details like hair brooches and combs can put a modern accent on your hairstyle. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets or rings can add a dramatic sweep of metal to your ensemble. Right down to metal accents on your shoes, metal can be incorporated into any bridal look.
This can be extended to the bridal party as well. Consider buying your bridal party a pair of earrings, or a hair comb, that matches the color palette as their bridal party gift. This shows your appreciation for their being part of your big day, and creates a consistent look within your party. You can buy identical ones for each person, or choose different items, in the same metal, to suit each individuals personality. If you're still searching for the perfect bridesmaid gift box for the wedding morning, check out our Custom Gift Box Builder to create a completely custom gift set. Our builder has hundreds of products to choose from for your bridal party gifts including plenty of gold, silver and rose gold for a metallic touch.

]]>You only have one wedding day, and you want to make it count.
And while to many couples it can sound like the ultimate dream to have the big day surrounded by friends and family in Cabo or Florence, there are some factors to consider before taking the plunge.
There are lots of all-inclusive packages and locations that will happily plan the bulk of your wedding (and sometimes honeymoon) for you. This means that resorts or tourism organizations will typically have package deals where they’ll coordinate each part of your wedding, from the reception to arranging an officiant and even thank you gifts for guests. Some even will be your concierge throughout the trip, helping you and your guest plan activities such as sightseeing and outdoor activities.
In other words, you pay one price and leave it up to the professionals — just show up in your wedding attire and you’re good to go.
Even though you’re traveling to get hitched, a destination wedding might be cheaper because you’ll typically have a smaller guest list. Instead of feeling like you have to invite the third cousin you’ve never met, a destination wedding can be an excuse to only invite close family and friends. Assuming you’re planning to have your honeymoon in the same location as your wedding, you’ll save money on traveling to your honeymoon destination.
Don’t forget to consider additional costs such as flights and hotels. (And take into account costs you may be covering for guests, like accommodation, food, and other expenses.)
Don't forget - destination weddings can be quite costly for your bridal party. Consider saying "thanks" with a custom gift box after the wedding. With our custom gift box builder you can build a gift within any budget, and choose unique items for each recipient. It'll show your appreciation while being a nice little surprise for the recipient after the wedding trip is over.
Think about the last few weddings you’ve been to — what special moments stand out to you?
Your guests may not remember every detail of your wedding attire, but they will remember dancing under the stars at the beach or exploring a new city with the whole family.
While a destination wedding may be cheaper for you, it can cost a pretty penny for your guests to attend. Even if you opt to pay for some of their stay and accommodations, it may be way out of a friend’s budget to fly out to Bali for your wedding. Sure, your close friends and family want to come to bear witness to your special day, but if they’re paying for a flight, hotel, food, sightseeing activities plus a wedding gift, it can add up quickly.
Financial barriers aside, some guests may not be able to travel due to work schedules, health issues, or other commitments.
Getting married in another country means you need to do some research to make sure your marriage is legal in the U.S. You’ll want to know what types of documents and paperwork you need to hand in so that everything is on the up and up. Otherwise, it’ll be a shame to learn later that your marriage isn’t legal when you get back home.
If you decide to go with a resort that specializes in wedding services, you’ll still want to do your research. That way if you do run into complications, you’ll know where you go to get a marriage license at your destination.
With a destination wedding, you’ll have a more intimate experience with your guests, since you’ll likely be staying in the same location and spending more time together than just the wedding ceremony and party. Between extra activities and leisure time spent in close proximity, you might have more family time together than you bargained for.
To make sure you get alone time as a couple, consider arriving before your guests and leaving a few days after so you can have some breathing room. If you can, schedule solo activities like couples massages or even opt to have your honeymoon across town.
Destination weddings can be a fun and exciting event for everyone involved, including the guests. Make sure you weigh all the pros and cons before making your choice. Sure, it can be a memorable experience but you’ll need to consider budget restrictions, including those for your guests. At the end of the day, it’s your big day so do what will ultimately make you happy.

While our heart and humble beginnings will always be in the wedding industry, we're thrilled to now include corporate and client gift offerings in our gifting services. We love to share what we're working on behind-the-scenes here, so each month we'll be featuring a gifting suite that exemplifies what we're all about: beautiful, custom, personalized gifts for all occasions.
This month, we're excited to showcase these luxurious "thank you" boxes we created for Dallas-based event planner LARA BETH. Lara and her team create, design and produce world class events around the globe. Earlier this summer, they reached out to us looking for a luxe branded gifting suite to say thanks to partners that contributed to the success of a recent celebrity charity event. With the help of our Custom Gift Box Builder, they approached us with some specific products they wanted to include, but wanted a bit of guidance rounding out the final design.
After some back-and-forth about quantities and branding preferences, and with product guidelines from the LARA BETH team, we decided to stick with a basic black and metallic color way to play off the minimal, modern feel of their brand.
It's imperative that we get the look and feel of a gift set just right when sending boxes directly to our customers' clientele. To ensure we have everything packed perfectly for each client, we create detailed mockups and sample images for review throughout the process. Working one-on-one with our customers in this way allows us to add and alter elements as needed to create a flawless final product.
After a few mockups and revisions, the LARA BETH team settled on a final box design that showcased some of our favorite brands. Each box included a duo of delicious dark chocolate bars from Compartés, a box of milk chocolate toffee tied with a black bow from B. Toffee, Sugarfina champagne bubble candies, a set of luxury playing cards from Theory 11 and a half bottle of champagne topped with a gold champagne puller. We were able to source amazing Veuve Clicquot Brut for their boxes, which took each gift up a notch for an extra special thank you.
Each limited edition matte black keepsake box was hand packed by our team in Pittsburgh, PA, with beautiful branded elements: black satin bows with custom LARA BETH tags, and LARA BETH greeting cards/envelopes with a handwritten message.
We love with how these gifts came together, and the folks at LARA BETH reported back that the recipients were over-the-moon to receive such special treats:
It was such a pleasure working with Foxblossom! They were always quick to respond to my emails and any idea that I had for the custom curated gift boxes they went above and beyond. The gift boxes turned out INCREDIBLE! Such a special way to thank the people for all of their hard work. - Anna Grace Pruitt, LARA BETH

For the last few years, Pantone has been choosing incredibly on-trend, wedding-friendly colors for their color of the year: a deep maroon/burgundy in 2015, a pair of blush and dusty blue hues for 2016, and, most recently, the general tone of "greenery" for 2017. This year, however, Pantone changed pace and went intergalactic with their historically influential color. Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year is a deep, majestic purple aptly named Ultra Violet.
While purple is personally my favorite color, I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it a was a challenging addition to a wedding palette. The vibrant purple is bold and unforgiving, and will certainly stand out to guests and in photos. That being said, I think it can be a bright, welcome change from the generally neutral/pastel wedding trends of the past. Check out how Pantone officially defines the color below:
Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.
Phew, that's a mouthful! We're ready to embrace this year's Color of the Year - we're excited for the bright, colorful additional to a typical wedding palette. If you're planning on incorporating purple into your wedding, we suggest staying in the same color family and pairing it with other purple hues, like lavender and burgundy.
With that in mind, we scoured the web for our favorite purple-themed wedding inspiration images for you to admire while you work on your own planning. Check out our finds below, and don't forget to pin them for later! Image credits and sources are below the pin. You can also see our entire board of Ultra Violet wedding inspiration here.

Today we’re bringing you the complete details on how to make your very own “best day ever” or “love is in the air” tote bags, using our free printable templates. Follow the easy steps below to instantly add a personalized piece to any celebration.
Step 1: Download our template and print it onto fabric transfer sheets. Note: They are designed to be printed as a mirror image.
Step 2: Cut out the phrase you’ve selected.
Tip: trimming very close to the edges reduces the amount of sheen from the transfer paper, which gives your bag a cleaner, more refined look.
Step 3: Arrange your phrase on the tote bag. We think the phrases look great centered between the handles of the bag, or aligned near either of the bottom corners.
Step 4: Set your iron to the hottest setting available, and slowly move the iron across the letters. Apply a good amount of pressure and iron over the letters a few times to ensure adherence to the tote bag. After moving the iron across the entire design a few times, feel free to peel up the edges of the transfer to check how it looks before removing it completely.
Tip: Using a steam iron? Turn off the iron’s steam setting and make sure there is no water in the reservoir. Dry heat makes sure that the transfer stays flat and straight on the tote bag.
Step 4: Allow the transfer to cool completely before fully peeling off the transfer's backing paper, and voilá, you’re finished!
There are a lot of unwritten rules with weddings, especially when it comes to purchasing a wedding gift. Do those who gift at the bridal shower need to also bring a gift to the wedding? Do couples prefer cash over registry gifts? And, if you do choose to go with cash, "how much should you spend?"
Luckily, we're here to provide you with a few tips that'll help you answer those questions (and more)! Thanks to Zola for these helpful cards to guide you through all your gifting questions.
The answer to this one is pretty straight-forward: if you plan on giving a physical gift to the couple for their shower or wedding day, try your best to stick to their registry. There's a reason that almost every couple registers with a site or store(s) before their big day. Wedding registries make it simple for both the gift giver and the recipient, and ensure that your gift will be loved and used for years to come.
That being said, it's always fun to "spice" it up a bit by presenting your gift in a unique way, or adding some personalization. Or, what I personally like to do, is to get something off the registry, and pair it with something unique that I found on my own. For instance, pair silverware or cutlery with a personalized cutting board, or top off a household item with something unique, like a set of mr. and mrs. mugs or a wedding-themed candle.
When the first of my friends was stepping up to the alter, I was totally oblivious as to how much I should spend on their gift (and frankly, it's still something that plagues me today). Something you'll hear over-and-over again is to give enough to cover your place setting at the wedding, but how are you supposed to know how much that is? And, say the wedding is a black tie, lavish affair - are you supposed to spend hundreds of dollars?
Rather than worrying about reimbursing your hosts for your presence at the wedding, you should gift according to how close you are with the couple, and how comfortable you are financially. According to a recent survey by The Knot, wedding guests spend an average of about $118 on a gift for a wedding. I'd say this is a healthy number to work around, especially if you're bringing a date. If the wedding is for a distant relative or a friend you don't see often, I think it's safe to err on the lower end of that number. Attending a wedding for two of your closest friends? Probably a good idea to spend a bit more.
Something that's always debated in the wedding world is when to give your gift. And the truth is, there isn't an easy answer for that!
In general, the couple should receive your gift before or immediately after their wedding. Giving something other than cash? It's best to send it straight to their home, or bring it to the bridal shower. Luckily, online shopping has made it easier than ever to get a gift shipped directly to the recipient, so shipping woes go out the window!
Additionally, if you're close with the couple and are attending the bridal shower, you should bring a gift that can be unwrapped. This is the best time to give sentimental gifts that can be used on the wedding day, like personalized hangers or custom gift boxes.
By far the most popular wedding gift is cash: it's an easy (fast) way to give a gift, and avoids any awkwardness with duplicate gifts or gifts that the couple can't use.
Modern registry websites like Zola have made it easy and more thoughtful than ever to gift cash as a wedding gift. Couples can set up a fund for anything they can see themselves using their wedding gift money on, like honeymoons, date nights and even gym memberships. When giving cash through a registry, you can pay with a credit card to make it easier on your wallet, and not have to worry about having the cash or check go during a hectic wedding day.
If you do decide to move forward with a cash or check in a card, make sure you place the envelope in a safe place, and address the check to the correct person. Bonus tip: don't assume the bride is changing her name!

As we move past the winter months and start heading for warmer days, the 2017 wedding season is ready to kick off into full swing! This year’s trends are a welcome change from the trends of the past: vibrant, bright, and unique ways to spice up a traditional wedding and make the day uniquely yours.
Take a look through some of our favorite 2017 wedding trends below!
"White and neutral tones will always be connected to weddings, but color will play a big role in 2017. Expect to see color in the flowers, the stationery and the attire. Weddings should be a celebration and fun means more colors." - Jove Meyer, Wedding Planner | The Fashion Spot
For brides who want to stick with a classic dress and decor but desire a little splash of color, consider adding in brighter florals rather than the customary greens and whites. A lively bridal bouquet can brighten your palette without taking away from the traditional draw of a white or ivory dress, and colorful centerpieces can add a pop to your tablescapes. We love the look of these rustic, yet colorful florals from Swoon Floral Design below.
In 2017, metallics, especially gold and rose gold, are continuing to make a huge comeback! Adding metallic accents throughout your decor can give the event a classic, timeless feel. Considering including a metallic in your color palette? We suggest pairing with one or two accent colors: gold looks great with navy or Pantone's color of the year, "Greenery", and rose gold pairs well with ivory and blush.
We've recently added these mirrored gold bridal party champagne flutes to our roster. These beauties can glam up your table setting, and your wedding party is sure to appreciate the personal touch. Gold details in invitations, menus and table numbers can help unite this subtle theme.
We love the little gold details that this Malibu bride (via Style Me Pretty) sprinkled throughout her special day. Delicate gold lettering on the menu, a sparkling gold tablecloth at the head table, and golden bridal accessories all tied into her theme without becoming gaudy.
“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 [...]. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalize and unite, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” Leatrice Eiseman, Director of the Pantone Color Institute via Pantone.com
Golden tones may make us think of elegance, but when paired with natural tones and large floral arrangements, you can create a veritable paradise! Incorporating large plants, neutral red-toned woods, and sparing natural stone accents will not only amplify the dispersed color, but make the golds pop out even more.
Be careful not to overdo it here - the golds, reds, and natural tones can clash, but when perfectly balanced, the harmony is absolutely gorgeous! Going for Greenery? As a rough guide, ½ of your decorations should be neutral toned or white, ¼ should be gold tinged, and the last ¼ should be wood-accented or natural.
2017 is all about expression - and a big part of that this year is taking the impersonal standards and making them personalized! Looking for a gift or accessory to make your bridal party feel extra special? We specialize in everything custom and personalized. Our current favorites are our personalized, laser engraved hangers and luxe monogrammed robes.
We hope this article gave you some great ideas to help you plan your wedding day. Save these ideas for later by pinning the image below, and let us know in the comments what trends you’re looking forward to taking on this year!

This is the number one thing you'll hear from any photographer when you chat about your wedding - having a surplus of natural light in the room is the easiest way to get the best looking photos. It's simple: a room flooded with natural light is more flattering (on you and your venue) than one with incandescent light or filled with flash. Sunlight filtered through large windows spreads evenly on your face to fill in any shadows. Spring/summer light casts a warm glow on your skin, which can even out your complexion and actually camouflage blemishes from photos. If you have the luxury of a room with lots of windows, we recommend turning off any artificial lighting and letting the sunlight do its job.
The best way to ensure you have a room with good light to get ready in? Call the venue or hotel and ask, or email for photos. If you live nearby, swing by for a visit and check it out one morning for yourself!
Tip 2: Start Early and get Ready at your Venue
This one is something you'll hear across the board in wedding planning, not just in terms of photos. Getting ready early (but not too early) is the best way to make sure you'll have the time to get the photos you want without rushing your hair and makeup artists or feeling rushed yourself.
Don't start so early that your bridesmaids are sitting around for hours in full hair and makeup, but definitely leave an hour of "cushion" before you have to leave to go to your ceremony. Things will almost definitely take longer than what you budgeted for, but having that extra time will help you stay relaxed and not feel tense while taking bridal portraits or fun bridesmaid photos.
Here's a little insight from wedding photographer Jill Knight on the subject:
"I always recommend brides have all their details laid out first thing in the morning (a great job for a maid of honor!) This allows me to spend time photographing the details upon first arriving while your maids are still getting make up on. Make sure to craft your timeline with your photographer in such a way that allows you to have ample time to relax and get ready. It's the key to candid, sweet and fun photos. You'll want this part of your day to be relaxing. The rest of the day goes by so quickly!"
Tip 3: Be Comfortable
There are enough reasons to be anxious on your wedding day, getting pampered should not be one of them. The best way to avoid wedding morning stress? Make sure you and your girls are comfortable. One of our favorite ways to have a comfortable, relaxing wedding morning is to give your girls bridal party robes to lounge in. They feel luxurious, and are the perfect way to make great photos, even while you're bridesmaids are sitting around for hours in full hair and makeup. They're also a great keepsake that your girls will use over-and-over (hello, indulgent at-home spa days!).
Oh, and pro tip: don't skip meals! A well-fed bridal party is a happy bridal party. Pizza is never a bad choice, just make sure you have lots of napkins ;)
Tip 4: Less is More
When it comes to decorating your wedding venue and getting-ready room, less is certainly more. Don't get me wrong, I know all-too-well that's it's tempting to buy or DIY a billion embellishments and bedazzle the day away, but you'll regret crowding your photos with unnecessary things (and your budget could probably use a little TLC, too).
Too much clutter in your venue? Don't be afraid to rearrange the room you're getting ready in. If you see something that you don't like, such as a tacky hotel lamp or a trinket on a shelf, simply move it out of the room for the morning! Ask your girls to keep their bags, makeup, brushes and anything else they might have organized or in another area. Keeping the clutter to a minimum will help keep you sane, and give your photographer more photo opportunities.
For instance, before any of the photos in this blog post were taken, photographer Jillian Knight spent a few minutes to move two glass vases filled with sea shells off the mantel, ditch a couple lamps and decorative books, scoot a chair out of the way and open all the shutters. After that, she showcased the bride's dress on a custom hanger in the background, turned off any artificial lighting and asked the girls to move their bags to the room next door. What resulted is a set of morning of photos that look effortless and natural.
Tip 5: Stay Photo-Ready
This tip is one that can easily be overlooked. And we understand - sometimes you're so busy planning your big day that you forget those little morning details that can really make your day special. That's why we're here to help.
A few simple details really go the extra mile when it comes to morning of photos. Something that photographers hear from brides all the time is that the detail shots are what made their wedding photos special. Whether it's a handwritten note from/to your future husband, beautiful florals in the bridal suite, personalized gifts for your girls or even cute apparel for your flower girl, there are tons of little ways to make your photos stand out.

]]>We've mentioned before that we're all about simple, easy DIY projects here at Foxblossom Co. These adorable tea party bridal shower favors are a perfect example of an easy DIY that will make a big impression without breaking the bank. All together, it cost us around $3 per favor, and our guests loved them! With the tiny "love is brewing" gift tags and delicious loose leaf tea, these made for the perfect bridal shower favor. They would also be great for any tea-themed party, just switch out the tags!
Steps 1 and 2: Pour any type of full leaf tea into an empty spice jar. We love this one from Olde Thompson (only $2.50 each!), but a test tube or even a small mason jar will work just as well. To create our desired look, we poured 3/4 of the jar full with an organic earl grey tea, and topped off the last bit of the jar with dried rose petals. Any full leaf tea will work, we just suggest using something pretty! We had a blast looking through Prestogeorge Coffee and Tea Shop in Pittsburgh's Strip District for the perfect blend, but any store that carries loose leaf teas (Teavana is another one of our favorites) will work just as well!
Step 3: Fold three empty tea filters (we used these ones!) into quarters and place in the top of the jar, between the cork stopper and the tea leaves. These tea filters are an essential part of the favor: many people don't have tea strainers, and we don't want to leave them hanging! Plus, they fit perfectly in the top of the jar, and are barely noticeable from the outside.
Step 4: Cut a generous length of twine. It should be enough to loop through the tag and tie tightly onto the jar.
Step 5: Print and cut the tags. Then punch a small hole in one end of each tag.
Step 6: Fold the twine in half and thread the loop through the hole in the tag, then pull the rest of the twine through the loop. Pull it snug so that it looks like image below.
Step 7: Wrap the twine around the neck of the bottle and tie in a knot. Cut the loose ends and make sure the tag is secure.
Step 8: Repeat! Make as many favors as your heart desires - they are super inexpensive and easy to make, making them perfect for favors for larger groups!
The best part about this favor was picking out flavors of tea and creating our own blend! We loved the layered look that the rose petals gave - but mixing them together would look nice, as well! If you'd like to give your guests a way to sweeten their tea, consider buying honey stirrers and attaching one or two to the glass using a glue dot. Or, stick small sugar cubes in the top - just make sure the bottles are kept in a mild temperature so the sugar doesn't melt!
Are you making these for a larger gift and want to make them even more special? Consider pairing them with one of our personalized mugs in a little gift bag or gift box, or create a variety pack of them using different kinds of tea!

Because we've seen so many ladies enjoying their morning-of mimosas in these darling flutes, we decided to build a mood board around them! ]]>Alright ladies, it's time to get crafty!
These DIY glitter champagne bottles are an easy, adorable way to *pop* the question—pun intended—to your bridesmaids. The best part? Each bottle only takes a few minutes to complete (we finished all three in under an hour). For an added touch, match your glitter colors to your wedding palette and present the bottles in an adorable gift box with one of our personalized champagne flutes!
Step 1: In a well-ventilated room, thoroughly spray the body of the mini champagne bottle with spray glue, avoiding any areas you want to stay glitter-free (we chose to leave the gold foil at the top untouched). For a clean line, place a piece of tape over the areas you don’t want covered in glitter.
Step 2: Carefully apply the first layer of glitter onto the bottle. We chose to start with gold.
Step 3: About 1/3 of the way down the bottle, switch to your next glitter color (for us that was the light pink), then transition to the third and final color — we used a deeper shade of the same color for an ombré effect.
Step 4: Repeat that process with as many bottles as you want, then admire your finished glitter champagne bottles! Wasn’t that easy? As with any glitter DIY project, the glitter will likely get all over the place. We recommend applying a light coat of clear acrylic sealer to minimize shedding.
Step 5: Print and cut out your FREE printable tags! Print in color on your printer’s highest settings for the cleanest tags. We’ve included nine bridesmaid tags, two maid of honor tags and one matron of honor tag on each sheet.
Step 6: Finish the tags by cutting a hole where the dotted lines are near the top. This can be accomplished with a pair of scissors or an X-Acto knife, but we sized the circles so you can use a traditional hole punch for a clean look.
Step 7: Cut about an 8-inch section of your twine and tie the ends into a large knot (as shown). Then clip off the extra twine at the end and thread the loop through the hole in your tag. The knot should be large enough that the tag can rest around the neck of the bottle without slipping off. Since we decided to use the champagne as part of a gift box, we just rested the paper straw inside the loop. If you choose, you can tie the straw to the bottle, instead.
Step 8: Last, but certainly not least, finish your gift box! We used a square, white gift box with white paper shred so the bottle really stood out and it looked extra bridal. As an added touch, we included one of our personalized champagne flutes. The gold script on the glasses pair perfectly with the champagne bottle/tags, and at only $15 a glass they are totally affordable!
We got the majority of our supplies at Target, but Amazon has all of these items, as well. Overall the bottle project totaled about $40 — that includes the three champagne bottles, straws, twine, glitter and spray adhesive, and we have a ton of supplies left over to use again. Don't forget to save the pin below for later!

For many couples, an engagement photo session is the first real excuse to get in front of the camera and have portraits taken by a professional photographer. We all know that engagement photos can get pretty awkward - but they definitely don't have to! Here are eight tips to help you shake off the nerves and leave your shoot knowing you have the photos you really want.
The most common mistake that leads to a series of unfortunate engagement photos is when the couple doesn't trust their photographer. Your photographer's coaching and guidance might sound repetitive (i.e.: “now give her a kiss on the cheek!” “Look into each others eyes” “laugh!”), but they’re doing it for a good reason. Each of these coaching moments loosens you up — how many times can you stare lovingly into your significant other’s eyes before you start to let go? — and gives them an opportunity to capture a real, candid moment. So just go with the flow and give your photographer the chance to make some great images.
Pick a location that means something to you as a couple. Whether it’s your favorite coffee place, a park near your apartment or just sight seeing around the city you are making a home in, having a meaningful location is the best way to relive the moments that made you fall in love in the first place. It's also important to consult your photographer on the potential locations and consider their input. They do this for a living, so chances are they've got some great ideas up their sleeve.
If you can, try and keep the majority of the photos outside. The bright, natural sunlight is flattering and will give you the romantic, airy feel you're looking for. Timing is important, too: the best light happens during the golden hours (one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset). Schedule your shoot around one of those hours and you won't be sorry.
OK, we get it, you look really amazing in that pair of pumps. But do you actually want to be walking around all day in those? Wearing comfortable outfits makes the engagement session easier on you and your feet. Feeling confident is equally important. You don't want to receive your photos and never use them because you bought an outfit that was too tight or you're not happy with your appearance. If you're going to buy a new outfit, make sure it's flattering all around, and you feel fabulous in it.
Here are some seasonal outfit ideas in case you need a place to start:
Summer engagement session? We suggest donning a pair of comfortable strappy sandals and a flowy sundress. Fall? Flannel, jeans and riding boots all the way. Winter engagement? A fitted, cropped jacket, corduroys and a pair of cute booties. Spring? Nothing's better than a cute blouse, comfy cardigan and your favorite wedges.
This one is a little vain, but does it really even need to be said? You know you want a glamour shot of your ring on your finger. Plus, it’s a great excuse to treat yo’self. On the day of the shoot, carry lotion and make sure to moisturize your hands before your photographer gets a close-up.
Make an appointment and give that rock the attention it deserves. A polished, shiny ring gives your photographer the opportunity to get a sparkling shot of your investment. And hey, it needed to be done anyway, right?
Don’t hold back with ideas and suggestions. If you want to get a quick shot outside of local landmark with your future husband, then speak up! Chances are your photographer has done their research, but they aren't mind readers — there’s no way they can know the exact shots you want. Only you can point them in the right direction! Make sure you communicate what you're looking for without limiting your photographer's creativity.
It's a great idea to make a Pinterest board of poses and ideas to share with your photographer in the weeks leading up to your shoot, but don't think you're going to end up with those exact photos. As a general rule, try to keep Pinterest as an overall inspiration for the look and feel of the shoot, without trying to recreate specific shots.
Besides the fact that your photos should be unique to you, it's unreasonable to expect your photographer to recreate a shot in a totally different environment with different subjects and different circumstances. Remember, most of the photos you see on Pinterest are the best-of-the-best, so try and stay realistic. Oh, and while we're on the subject... ditch the props. Most are so overdone that they've become tacky, unfortunately. Our advice? Keep it simple and focus on getting great photos of you and your fiancé that you'll want to look at for years to come.
I really can't stress this enough. If you’re feeling uncomfortable, it’ll come through in your photos. Shake off the nervousness, take a deep breath and, most importantly, have a good time!

]]>In December, Pantone announced that they decided to choose not one, but two beautiful, complimentary pastels for their Color of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. The best part of this dynamic duo? These colors would look beautiful in any spring or summer wedding. That's why we're sharing inspiration, eye candy and tips on planning your wedding's color palette around Pantone's colors of the year in today's post. Happy planning!
First things first. Before we dive into rose quartz and serenity wedding inspiration goodness, let's talk about the steps you should take to establish a solid wedding color palette (besides expertly curating a Pinterest board, of course).
In general, there are three main factors to consider when picking your palette: season, setting and style. In our opinion, thinking seasonally is the most essential step towards choosing colors that you'll love. For instance, rose quartz and serenity work perfectly for spring and summer weddings, but they might not be as applicable to a fall wedding (where warmer earth tones tend to create a better mood). You should also be mindful of the setting: find inspiration in your venue and location, and try to choose colors that won't clash with the space. Take photos while visiting your venue, and Google previous weddings at that location to see what works and what doesn't. Luckily, we can see rose quartz and serenity working beautifully in quite a few scenarios—from a wedding on the beach to a rustic barn venue. Lastly, think about your personal style. Do you favor pastels or do see your wedding in bright, bold colors? You should have fun thinking about all the different color combinations—don't be afraid to break the rules and try something new! After all, it is your wedding, and your (and your fiancé's) personal style should be your first priority.
While rose quartz and serenity work well alone, it's a good rule of thumb to have at least three colors in your palette. This gives you a variety of options when it comes to picking out complimentary bridesmaid dresses, bouquets, table settings, etc. We decided to round out our wedding inspiration palette with a light, natural blue-green hue, also known as Pantone's "Icy Morn." The wedding we're envisioning has a spring outdoor setting, so our third color is inspired by those quiet, natural earth tones that remind us of springtime. Check out our finished palette swatches below:
**Tip** It's always helpful to head over to your local hardware store and pick out physical swatches for your palette. Don't have time for that? Pantone's color finder tool is a great way to find the exact hue you're looking for.
Now that you've got your palette completed, you can let the planning begin! We've searched the web for our favorite rose quartz and serenity bridesmaid looks, accessories, decor and details. Feel free pin our image and check out our Pinterest for more wedding inspiration!
