Gift Box FAQ

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We introduced our custom box builder app to help our customers create a unique gift box packed with personalized products for their loved ones. Here's a quick guide to building a box:

  1. Pick your packaging: every creation is shipped in our sturdy, signature gray linen gift box with your choice of paper shred (ivory or light gray) and a gray elastic closure. You can see the paper shred options by hovering your mouse over the different boxes.
  2. Select (and customize) your products: Choose from a wide-variety of products from us and our retail partners to build the perfect gift boxes. To add an item, simply click on it, select your custom options and add your personalization (if applicable), and click "add to box." You'll see all of the items you choose displayed at the top of the screen next to your box selection.
  3. Pick a card: Click on "Step Two" at the top of the box builder to be taken to the card selection screen. Click on the card you'd like to include and it will automatically advance you to the last page.
  4. Write your message: Type any message you'd like (up to 250 characters!) in the text box and a member of our team will handwrite it on the card for you! Unless instructed otherwise, we seal all cards in envelopes and place them inside the box for the recipient. Prefer to add the message yourself? Select the "leave the card blank" option and we'll place the card outside the box for you to fill-in.
  5. Add to cart: Once you're happy with your message, click the "Add to Cart" button at the bottom of the screen, and you're finished! You can either keep shopping or go to your cart to checkout.

HOW ARE THE BOXES PACKED?

We pack each box by hand in our Pittsburgh studio. The products you choose are placed thoughtfully in ivory or light gray paper shred and secured with a piece of tissue paper and a sticker so they don't shift or break during shipment.

WHAT IS THE $8 BASE FEE FOR?

The $8 base fee in the box builder covers our high-quality, 10x8x4" gray linen gift box, hand wrapping, and one greeting card/envelope with an optional handwritten message.

I HAVE MULTIPLE BOXES IN MY ORDER - HOW DO I KNOW WHICH IS WHICH?

When we have larger orders, we add a small white name tag to identify each box. If there are no personalized items in the box, we will place a sticky note on the top of the box describing what's inside so you know which is which.

HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE TO SHIP?

Most gift boxes ship within 2-3 business days. Boxes with robes or larger orders may take longer. Shipping within the U.S. is typically 2-4 days, and 2-4 weeks for international orders. Have a specific date you need us to meet? Please leave your need-by date in your order notes at check-out and we will do our best to make it happen. :)

CAN YOU HOLD MY GIFT BOX SO THAT IT ARRIVES ON A SPECIFIC DATE?

Absolutely! Feel free to email us or just leave the date you'd like it to arrive on in the "notes" section at checkout and we can hold your order.

CAN YOU SHIP TO MULTIPLE ADDRESSES?

The easiest way to ship multiple boxes to multiple addresses is to place individual orders for each one. Have a larger order? Let us know and we'd be happy to process your order for you.

DO YOU BUILD CUSTOM CLIENT/CORPORATE GIFTS?

We're hard at work developing a more mobile-friendly gift box builder, but at this time it is best viewed using Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari on a desktop computer.
